This tremendous project delivers 130 additional beds, new spaces for mental health and oncology services, and 15 new operating theatres. The expansion will provide expanded women’s and children’s services. This includes new maternity, obstetrics, and pediatric wards, a women’s clinic, and a special care nursery. The hospital’s increased capacity will treat about 35,000 more patient episodes each year. This will reduce wait times and alleviate pressure on other Melbourne hospitals.
